Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. When she was just five and moved to Oxfordshire and enrolled in an Oxfordshire-based Dragon School. Emma was six years old when she made the decision to pursue a career as an actress. She was trained for many years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a full-time school of theatre in Oxford in which she learned acting and singing. When she was 10, Emma had taken part in numerous Stagecoach productions and plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 film adaptation from J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book was released in 1999. Emma was spotted by Emma's Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman announced to Emma that, after auditioning for eight times they and Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. Emma's first appearance on the big screen took place in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, released in 2001. The movie set records for opening day and weekend numbers, and was the top-grossing 2001 film. Reviewers have been highly lauding the film, as well as the performance of the three main young actors. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her performance. Emma was awarded the Young Artist Award as the most outstanding young actor in a feature Film. She was later recognized five times in recognition of her part in the film.
